Palm Beach residents to answer the call
The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County has embarked on a new approach to Annual Campaign fundraising. Thousands of Jewish households in the greater Palm Beaches have received phone calls from Israel in addition to local volunteers to raise money for Federation’s 2007 Annual Campaign during the month of March. IDT, a Newark, NJ-based telemarketing firm with an Israeli satellite branch employing 425 Israelis, has routed calls from Jerusalem to New Jersey to Florida. Israelis have directly spoken with local residents and asked them for their commitment to aid Jews in the greater Palm Beaches, Israel and 60 countries around the world.
2007 Campaign Chair Mark F. Levy says, "It’s a win-win situation. We have reached more people in our community and raised more funds for our extended Jewish family. This new tactic has enabled us to support employment in Israel and the state’s economy. In addition, local residents find it meaningful to receive a call from Israel, our spiritual homeland."
